Under the honorary presidency of Michaëlle Jean, 27th Governor General of Canada and emblematic figure of leadership and influence of black communities, the Fabienne Colas Foundation (FFC) is proud to announce the programming of the 15th Fondu au Noir Festival, presented by the TD Bank Group. The festival will be held in person and online from February 4 to 8, 2026, within the highly symbolic framework of the 30th anniversary of Black History Month.
The Festival will open on February 4 at the Cinéma du Musée with the film FRANTZ FANON followed by a round table moderated by Diane Gistal, independent curator of contemporary art, highlighting Thibault Tranchant, Doctor of philosophy and professor at Cégep Édouard-Montpetit and Ernest-Marie Mbonda, professor of philosophy and specialist in the work of Frantz Fanon.
To mark this anniversary edition, Fondu au Noir is innovating with the launch of a brand NEW FLAGSHIP PROGRAM: the AFRO-ARTS Expo, a fresh, bold and resolutely innovative initiative that will highlight Afro-Quebecois and Afro-Canadian artisans. Presented at the Colas Theater over three days, the AfroArts Expo offers an immersive experience – creations, meetings and discoveries – making the Colas Theater a true crossroads of richness, dialogue and celebration in the heart of the Saint-Henri district (South-West) in Montreal.
This 15th edition thus highlights notable figures with prolific careers on the Quebec and Canadian political, cultural and economic scene, such as the honorary president of this edition, Michaëlle Jean, 27th Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, the Right Honorable Senator Amina Gerba, the Olympic champion, entrepreneur and philanthropist Bruny Surin, Patrice Bernier, emblematic figure of Quebec and Canadian soccer, former Canadian football player Ali Gerba, Kerlande Mibel, Founder and CEO of the International Black Economic Forum, Fabienne Colas, Entrepreneur, actress, director and producer.
Through an abundant program – film screenings (in person and online), panels and debates, major interviews, musical performances, dance, literature, craft exhibition, pop-up market and more – Fondu au Noir promises a grandiose edition, designed to move, inspire, bring together and impress.
A passport card is available to give access to all activities at the AfroArts Expo at the Colas Theater at a cost of $15/day or $40/3 days (+ tax/fees) and on sale on the website.

Message from founder Fabienne Colas “Fondu au Noir is celebrating 15 years this year, and doing it as part of the 30th anniversary of Black History Month is extremely powerful and symbolic. We wanted a bold, lively and unifying edition, which reflects who we are today. And welcoming the Right Honorable Michaëlle Jean as honorary president of this anniversary edition – 20 years after her enthronement as the 27th Governor General of Canada – is an immense privilege. I am even more delighted with the launch of the AfroArts Expo which will make Saint-Henri and all of Montreal vibrate for three days at the Colas Theater! We thus create a living space where Afro-descendant artisans take their full place. It is a necessary, current and inspiring showcase, which allows artisans to meet the public in a different way and to create a dialogue between the different creations” – Fabienne Colas, Founding President of Fondu au Noir, the Haiti en Folie Festival and the Black Film Festivals of Montreal, Toronto, Halifax, Ottawa, Calgary, Vancouver and Salvador de Bahia
