How can we welcome our children’s concerns and questions when we ourselves, as parents, can be affected by these same uncertainties?
Brahim Benyoucef, Ph. D. Professor and expert consultant, Brahim Benyoucef has a doctorate in urban planning and development and a degree in social sciences and oriental civilizations. He has more than 35 years of experience in university teaching, scientific research and international expertise. As part of this panel, his social science perspective will contribute to a better understanding of the transformations occurring in our societies and the context in which families play their role today.
Saffae Ramdani, psychologist. Saffae Ramdani is a clinical psychologist and member of the Order of Psychologists of Quebec. Trained in France and based in Montreal, she supports adults and adolescents in individual psychotherapy. His approach places the therapeutic relationship at the heart of the process of change. As part of this panel, she will provide a clinical look at emotional and relational needs and how parents can support their children and preserve secure relationships in a changing world.
Amath Choquet, therapist and entrepreneur. Amath Choquet is an associate at Neuro-Énergie Institut, where he works mainly with adolescents, young adults and their families. Its support focuses in particular on self-confidence, management of emotions, motivation, behaviors and habits as well as family and social relationships. As part of this panel, he will provide a field perspective on the realities experienced by young people and their families and on the ways in which parents can maintain connections, encourage dialogue and support their children in facing the realities they encounter.
Moderator: Nabila Aldjia Bouchala, Ph. D. Nabila Aldjia Bouchala is a researcher, lecturer at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM) and professional in program planning, research and evaluation. Doctor in information and communication sciences from the University of Bordeaux, she has expertise in communication, interculturality, media, immigration and citizen participation. His career combines academic research, community intervention and project management.
As part of this meeting, she will moderate the panel and guide the discussions between the panelists in order to bring together their different perspectives and fuel reflection around the theme “Being a parent in a changing world”.
