21e édition de l’Iftar du Dialogue : Un succès retentissant

310 guests gathered around the values of living together, solidarity and dialogue.

Montreal, February 27, 2026. The Atlas Media Group and the Cultures and Diversity association recorded a remarkable success during the 21st edition of the Dialogue Iftar. This event, now anchored in Montreal tradition, establishes itself year after year as an unmissable event for intercommunity meetings in Quebec and Canada.

A full house and a historic edition

No less than 310 guests took part in this exceptional evening. In a warm and festive atmosphere, the room vibrated to the rhythm of Gnawa, Aissawa and Andalusian sounds, carried by renowned artists, thus offering a true cultural journey to the heart of Moroccan traditions.

This 21st edition was distinguished by a major innovation: in order to encourage authentic dialogue, the organizers opted for a redesigned table plan. Rather than being grouped together, the 28 elected officials and political decision-makers present were distributed across the room, sitting directly alongside the citizens. This initiative aimed to bring elected officials closer to the community, giving full meaning to the spirit of exchange that has animated the event for two decades.

A high-level political and diplomatic presence

The evening brought together a host of leading personalities, testifying to the growing prestige of the Dialogue Iftar. Among those present were:

The Minister of Health of Canada;
The Minister of Public Security of Quebec;
9 federal deputies and 9 provincial deputies;
The president of the Council of the City of Montreal and the mayor of Montreal-North;
11 councilors from the cities of Laval and Montreal;
The Ambassador, Consul General and Minister Counselor of the Kingdom of Morocco,
The directors of Royal Air Maroc and Bank of Africa;
Many presidents of associations, business people, lawyers, doctors as well as executives of law enforcement and investigation agencies.

Strong messages carried by the speeches

The speeches resonated with remarkable unity of tone. The messages from the Ambassador of Morocco and the Prime Minister of Canada, as well as the speeches of elected officials, all converged on the founding values of our society: solidarity, sharing and living together. These themes constitute the basis of the Dialogue Iftar since its creation in 2003.

Five winners honored for their commitment

Faithful to its tradition, the event paid tribute to five winners who distinguished themselves through their action in favor of social cohesion. They received their distinction during a moving ceremony. Their inspiring journeys are also detailed in the official catalog of the event.

A growing Montreal tradition

“For almost a quarter of a century, the Dialogue Iftar has been much more than a meal shared at sunset. It is a sincere meeting space where Montreal reveals its best,” declared the organizers of the Atlas Media Group and the Cultures and Diversity association.

Building on this success, the Dialogue Iftar has established itself as a pillar of intercultural life. The organizers are already looking forward to a promising 22nd edition.
