The Chaînon Foundation is launching its general public digital fundraising campaign, “Keys, it changes everything”, which will run until March 13. The goal: to raise public awareness of issues related to women in vulnerable situations and to encourage donations to support them.

The actress Catherine Renaud, sponsor of the campaign, delivers Nicole*’s poignant testimony and makes us feel the challenges faced by women in precarious situations, as well as the concrete solutions necessary to offer them a more stable future.

Female homelessness is often invisible: many women avoid the streets by finding temporary shelter with relatives or in public places, which makes their situation less apparent, but just as urgent. With the “Keys, it changes everything” campaign, the Chaînon Foundation, which annually welcomes more than 2,350 women through its 4 shelters, wishes to promote access to safe and sustainable housing for these women.

Important statistics about Le Chaînon and the women who find themselves there:* 38% of women received at Le Chaînon say they live with a mental health disorder.* Nearly 35% of young people from the DPJ experience a situation of homelessness or great precariousness in the years following their release.* 650 different women welcomed in the last 6 months.* 56% of women say they have been victims of violence.

About Le ChaînonFounded in 1932, Le Chaînon’s mission is to welcome women in vulnerable situations unconditionally and without judgment. We offer them safe accommodation as well as help and support adapted to their needs, in an environment that encourages the most egalitarian relationships possible. During their stay, they carry out, with the support of experienced workers, a process that promotes their return to autonomy and the resumption of their personal and social power. Le Chaînon also wishes to take a collective and social position with a view to denouncing inequalities, living conditions and the different forms of violence experienced by women. Our goal is to promote the defense of women’s rights, with women.
