Les Films du 3 Mars and Productions Leitmotiv are pleased to announce the digital release of the feature film Circo written and directed by Lamia Chraibi (Comme une spirale, Statu Quo, Voix d’Amazonie), which she produces alongside Patricia Bergeron. The documentary traces the journey of resilience of a young trans artist in the heart of the favelas of Rio de Janeiro.

Circo has been screened at numerous festivals, including the Montreal International Documentary Meetings (RIDM), the Reelout Queer Film Festival, the MIX México – Cine, Diversidad Sexual y de Género Festival and the Reelworld Film Festival, where it won two awards. The film also had great success in theaters last summer with several sold-out screenings. It is now available worldwide via the F3M+ online platform.

Synopsis: In Rio de Janeiro, Richard dreams of shining in the biggest marquees in the world. The day the 20-year-old artist is kicked out by his adoptive mother, his life is turned upside down. Through an intimate approach drawing on direct cinema, Circo offers an immersion with residents of Brazilian favelas who are trying to reclaim their destiny.
