For 25 years, the Hilarious Riders motorcycle club, the majority of whose members are of Afro-descendants, has broken the stereotypes of the Montreal-North neighborhood by being deeply involved with its community, and in particular young people. Cœur de motard makes us discover this universe from the inside. This documentary, written and directed by Will Prosper, and produced by Yzanakio Création, will be presented on Saturday, October 3 at 10:30 p.m. on ICI TÉLÉ and ICI TOU.TV.
United for good causesIn addition to their passion for motorcycles, what unites Hyper, Lefty, Preacher, Boss Lady and the others is the desire to make a difference in their community through multiple initiatives, the number and importance of which only increases over the years. They have a good job, have faced racism and many have come from far away to gain their self-esteem. Today, they go out to meet young people to share positive images with them, encourage them to believe in their worth, to develop and achieve their aspirations. We will see in particular how they solicited donations in order to buy hundreds of school bags which they fill themselves with school supplies to help disadvantaged children in the neighborhood. Here is a motorcycle club that thrives on kindness and gives a whole new meaning to camaraderie, fraternity and family spirit. A universe where motorcycles, prejudices and the initiation rites of new times intersect.
Coeur de motard will also be premiered as part of the Montreal International Black Film Festival during a special screening at Concordia University.
