TVA Films is pleased to announce that the film CONNEMARA, by Alex Lutz, will be released on July 3 in Quebec. Presented as a world premiere and in official selection in the Cannes Première section of the Cannes Film Festival last year and its Canadian premiere during the 31st edition of the Cinemania festival last November, CONNEMARA stars Mélanie Thierry (Goodbye Up There, Suddenly Alone) Bastien Bouillon (The Count of Monte Cristo, Leaving One Day) and Jacques Gamblin (The Name of People, The First Day of the Rest of Your Life).
Coming from a modest background, Hélène left the Vosges a long time ago. Today, she is in her forties. A brutal burnout forces her to leave Paris and return to where she grew up, between Nancy and Epinal. She settles in with her family, finds a good job, quality of life in short… One evening, in the parking lot of a franchise restaurant, she sees a familiar face, Christophe Marchal, the handsome hockey player from her high school years. Christophe, this distant object of desire, a connection that Hélène did not see coming… In their embrace, there are two Frances, two now foreign worlds who dream of loving each other.
