The comedian and songwriter today offers her first album of original instrumental compositions Between Beirut and Lévis. With melodies inspired by romantic composers such as Schumann, Brahms and Rachmaninoff, Yasmina evokes the vast, the intimate and the vulnerable.
Arranged by Élie Raymond (Totally Sublime, Frais Dispo) and produced by Fred Levac (Rosie Valland, Goodbye Karelle), the titles that accompany each piece offer sensitive and powerful benchmarks: the quest for oneself, performance, breakups, the connection to family, the feeling of belonging.
Trained in classical piano and graduated from the National School of Humor, Yasmina brilliantly combines music and comedy. She has performed on prestigious stages such as Carnegie Hall and with the Orchester Métropolitain as well as in comedy festivals such as Juste pour laughs and Fierté Montréal.
ABOUT THE ALBUMComposed between 2018 and 2024, these pieces mark a progressive turn towards composition and an intimate return to the piano, freed from the strict frameworks of classical training. Inspired by the minimalism of Érik Satie and the play of harmonic tension of romantic and modern composers, Yasmina explores slowness, simplicity and vulnerability. The works stretch the tone, delay the resolution and let the tension settle, like a space of waiting and hope. This freedom runs through the album and gives birth to contemplative, sensitive and deeply inhabited music.

ABOUT THE FOCUS TRACKBetween Beirut and Lévis echoes the origins of Yasmina, born to a Lévisian father and a Lebanese mother. Of great harmonic simplicity, the piece carries a gentle emotion and a tribute to her parents, who supported her through her many detours and changes of direction.
ABOUT YASMINATrained in classical piano and graduated from the National School of Humor in 2024, Yasmina creates a universe where instrumental music and stage humor meet. After distinguishing herself as a soloist with the Orchester Métropolitain and having performed at Carnegie Hall, she made her place on the Quebec comedy scene by participating in the Juste pour laugh Québec festival, Fierté Montréal, Minifest, and the Festival of humor from Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
