On the eve of its 39th presentation, which takes place from April 8 to 12, the Québec BD Festival is pleased to unveil the finalists for the Bédéis Causa, these prizes that have always been eagerly awaited and awarded since the start of the event. This year, 22 albums and their authors were selected from among all French-speaking works published in 2025, in Quebec and elsewhere. From humor to autobiographical stories, including science fiction, adventure and documentaries, these titles reflect the richness of the current offering in comics, particularly in Quebec.

In addition to the six distinctions whose finalists are presented below, and which were selected by a jury made up of booksellers and specialist columnists, two other prizes will also be awarded during the ceremony. The Jacques-Hurtubise Prize, intended for new creation, as well as the Albert-Chartier Prize, awarded every year in tribute to an individual or organization having marked the world of Quebec comics.

This year again, $5,000 will be awarded in five categories by Québec BD, in collaboration with Les Libraires, FAB Télé-Québec and Librairie Pantoute. The Bédéis Causa Awards will take place on Friday, April 10, at 6:30 p.m., at the Musée de la civilization de Québec.
