After the resounding success of the tribute show to Nanette Workman, which sold out in just a few hours last year and generated significant media enthusiasm, the Théâtre Gilles-Vigneault is proud to unveil, with Éconofitness as official presenter of the 2026 benefit evening, France Castel in Technicolor, a spectacular and deeply human event which will celebrate the immense career of France Castel.
Presented on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at the Théâtre Gilles Vigneault, this unique evening will bring together a brilliant cast composed of Véronic DiCaire, Marc Hervieux, Michel Barrette, France Beaudoin, Christian Marc Gendron, Monique Fauteux, Mia Tinayre, Virginie Cummins, Les Koristes from En direct de l’univers, the vocal ensemble of the Académie Lafontaine, and several surprise guests!
Imagined and directed by Maxime Charbonneau, France Castel en Technicolor offers a vibrant journey through more than six decades of creation, television, music, variety, theater and cinema.
More than a simple tribute, this original creation wishes to celebrate the woman behind the artist: warm, unifying, funny, daring and immensely loved by the Quebec public. The evening will take on a very special dimension since France Castel herself will attend this tribute from the room, surrounded by the public and the artists who have come to celebrate her exceptional career. And if she received this show carried by the emotion of the moment, we bet that she would not be able to resist the desire to go on stage… for the duration of a song. “France Castel occupies a unique place in our collective imagination. She has spanned the ages with disarming authenticity, incredible freedom and a larger-than-life stage presence. With France Castel in Technicolor, we wanted to create a large living, moving and festive fresco in her image. A generous, vibrant and deeply human show, which celebrates the woman as much as the artist. » — Maxime Charbonneau, designer and director
