because I have them too! Based on your messages and with the help of the Institute’s specialists, we will come back to you with advice for a more comfortable old age. I look forward to reading you! » explains Ms. Janette Bertrand, ambassador of the Foundation.
Quebec is experiencing a major demographic transition: within five years, one in four Quebecers will be over 65. The challenges of aging are multiple, complex and affect all families: cognitive health, mobility, isolation, caregivers, etc.
“The trend is clear: the need for specialized care and support of all kinds is growing strongly. It is essential to advance research and knowledge on aging, as well as to promote the well-being of our seniors. This is why the Montreal Geriatric Institute Foundation is carrying out this project: understanding the concerns of older people and supporting their well-being,” underlines Marie-Hélène Vendette, general director of the Montreal Geriatric Institute Foundation, an organization that funds scientific research and innovative projects that improve the quality of care for seniors.
Aging is a story to tell Firstly, elderly people and their loved ones are invited to write to Janette to share their daily concerns with her, by March 31, 2026. Next spring, with the contribution of specialists and researchers from the University Institute of Geriatrics of Montreal, video capsules will be broadcast to offer advice and practical solutions in response to the main issues raised in the messages sent.
