Vital Distribution and Vital Productions are proud to present L’amour du gros ballon, a documentary directed by Miguel Lambert that follows the Canadian kin-ball team as they aim for a new world title in South Korea. Screened to a sold-out audience during its world premiere at the Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma (RVQC), the film has been shown in regular programming since June 19.
L’amour du gros ballon was previewed in Quebec on June 18, while the theatrical launch party took place on June 19 in Montreal.
Synopsis In 1985, a huge ball appeared in gymnasiums in Quebec. It is so unique that it will give birth to a whole new team sport: kin-ball. The Love of the Big Ball follows the Canadian kin-ball team as they fly to South Korea to defend their title as world champions. Through the team spirit, respect and vulnerability of the players, a deeply united group emerges. For some, this will be their very last competition. The portrait then emerges of a generation of men who put forward a masculinity imbued with sensitivity, solidarity and authenticity, one emotion at a time. Victory or defeat, these athletes together redefine what it means to be strong, united and human.
