The car racer Bertrand Godin, in collaboration with the Sanair Foundation, is launching a unique initiative to support the legendary Saint-Pie racing complex: the “TOUS POUR SANAIR” candle with notes of gasoline, oil and burnt rubber.
While the circuit faces serious threats of expropriation, $5 per candle sold will be directly paid to the Sanair Foundation in order to ensure the survival and maintenance of the site’s activities.
A 100% Quebecois gesture of solidarity This fundraising campaign also focuses on the importance of local purchasing. The thematic candle is entirely handmade in Montreal from natural and eco-responsible soy wax. In addition to encouraging the know-how of local artisans, each purchase allows money to be directly reinvested in the province’s economy and recreational tourism heritage. Buying this product means making a doubly circular gesture: supporting a local business while protecting a Quebec sporting institution.
In a 4 oz format, it faithfully recreates the electrifying atmosphere of the tracks with its fragrances of burnt rubber, motor oil and high-performance gasoline. Sold at a cost of $22.77, it offers 25 hours of combustion and embodies a true symbol of solidarity for the community of motorsports enthusiasts. “Sanair is part of our automotive heritage and we must do everything to keep the circuit open,” declares Bertrand Godin. ABOUT BERTRAND GODINIn the motor racing landscape for almost 40 years, Bertrand Godin has an impressive international career. Vice-champion of France twice in Formula Ford for the Mygale team in 1993 and 1994, winner of the Canadian Grand Prix and the Cleveland Grand Prix in Formula Atlantic in 1997, it was in 2018 that Bertrand Godin made a notable return to the track of the Canadian Grand Prix and the Trois-Rivières Grand Prix in Formula 1600.
