Singer-songwriter JF Poulin unveils a brand new French-language album entitled Ma tête fait une pause, an intimate and luminous project which marks a new chapter in his artistic approach.
Following Drol d’oiseau (2016), directed by Michel Rivard, this second French-language album is produced by Productions Transcend.e. For this project, JF Poulin surrounded himself with valuable collaborators: Denise Noël, who wrote the title song, among others, and Stéphane Blanchette, long-time accomplice.
Recognized for his sensitive, melancholic musical universe anchored in gentle folk, JF Poulin explores new horizons here. After a period of questioning, the artist undertook an introspective process which led him to an essential realization: the need to make more room for joy in his music.
My head pauses is born from this sincere desire for transformation. The album combines Latin influences with its folk roots. The songs address universal themes such as the quest for happiness, love, truth and the beauty of everyday life. This assumed artistic shift allows the artist to step out of his comfort zone and offer work that does good.
The song Citron merengue was also premiered on Radio-Canada radio on April 9.
The team behind the album shares a simple wish: that these songs bring a little light to those who listen to them, in a context where current events are sometimes dark, and where a little lightness can make all the difference.
