Placed under the honorary presidency of the artist Gabriel Landry, the launch of the 30th Rally-Expos of Vues d’Afrique 2026 took place on February 7 at the NA-RIVÉ Center in the presence of the curator of the exhibition Mr. Bousmaha Seddiki, the founder of the Vues d’Afrique film festival Mr. Gérard Le Chêne and several artists participating in the collective exhibition Divers Cités until March 15 2026.
Organized by the Nouvim-Arts collective during Black History Month, this exhibition highlights Afro-Canadian-Quebec artists whose artistic practices demonstrate the richness of plural identities, intercultural dialogue and Montreal living together through various forms of expression; painting, watercolor, engraving and photography. The works presented explore the links between memory, territory, heritage and contemporary creation.
Visitors will discover the works of many artists including those of Gabriel Landry, Miloud Boukhira, Miloud Chennoufi, Ommar Gammaoui, Fathi Bouzida and many others…
Present during the event, the Tunisian artist Fathi Bouzida took part in the question/answer game, notably addressing the place of African art. This moment of cultural encounter also allowed director Akim Kermiche to present his documentary on Gabriel Landry. It should also be noted that Akim has just produced “Henriette Mvondo Positive Community Actress”. This new documentary was screened on February 6 at the Ciné-Quartier de LaSalle in the presence of Henriette and many guests.
Thus, the Rally-Expos of Views of Africa offers, as every year, a rich and varied program from February 1 to June 30. Visual arts exhibitions, animation workshops, conferences and screenings are organized through museums, galleries, art centers, trendy cafés, large bookstores and universities in the Metropolis.
Find all the programming on the website Rally-Expos.
