On April 17, the Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension district highlighted the essential contribution of its volunteers during its traditional recognition evening, held at the Le Madison hall. More than 400 people active in their community took part in this festive event, punctuated by a friendly meal and a dancing evening. During the celebration, the host unveiled the recipients of the Volunteer Recognition Awards, in the presence of members of the borough council.

“Volunteering is a precious asset for Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension. These are women and men who, through their daily commitment, strengthen solidarity, living together and the quality of life in our neighborhoods. This evening is an opportunity to say thank you to them and to recognize the very real impact of their involvement on our community,” underlined Jean François Lalonde, mayor of the Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension district.

The 14th edition of the Volunteer Recognition Awards highlighted people whose sustained commitment transforms the daily lives of their community. Five distinctions were awarded: four “Volunteer of the Year” prizes, one per electoral district, as well as a “Volunteer of the Year – Young People 13-17” prize. The winners also received a trophy in recognition of their contribution.
