Presented in 12 cities in Quebec, this intimate recital will continue in spring 2027, punctuated by a major symphonic event when he will perform Rachmaninov&rsquo;s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Orchester Philharmonique et Ch\u0153ur des M\u00e9lomanes (OPCM), on May 8, 2027, at the Maison symphonique de Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>\n<p>This season is also marked by international recognition: The International Peace Alliance (AIP-IPA) awarded him the Prize for his entire career in music. Among the Cultural Ambassadors for Peace 2026, he is included alongside other internationally renowned figures, including Susan Sarandon, Peter Kennard, Ken Loach and Gerhard Richter. This distinction, highlighting the careers of personalities whose artistic, cultural or social achievements contribute to dialogue between peoples and the promotion of the values \u200b\u200bof peace, will be officially presented to him on October 24, 2026 at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto, during the Gala and Grand Ball of the Ambassadors of Peace Awards, the closing event of the International Peace Festival.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMusic has always been for me a universal language, capable of creating bridges between people and cultures. Receiving this Prize is an honor that moves me deeply, because it recognizes not only an artistic journey, but also the unifying force of music,\u201d underlines Alain Lef\u00e8vre. At the heart of this new season, Consolation offers a musical journey inspired by its most recent album. Aires, at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City as well as at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens. During his career, he has collaborated with several major orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchester National de France, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Washington, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the National Arts Center Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Monte-Carlo, the China Philharmonic, the Shanghai Symphony and the Moscow Virtuosos. An ardent defender of musical creation and Canadian cultural heritage, Alain Lef\u00e8vre has always supported the works of the composers of his time, collaborating in particular with Henri Dutilleux, John Corigliano, Walter Boudreau, Fran\u00e7ois Dompierre, Pierre Max Dubois, Alain Payette and Alexander Brott. He is also recognized for having played a decisive role in the international rediscovery of the work of Canadian composer Andr\u00e9 Mathieu, nicknamed the \u201cCanadian Mozart\u201d. Thanks to his performances presented in New York, Paris, London, Berlin, Shanghai and several other cultural capitals, Alain Lef\u00e8vre has largely contributed to making this music known to an international audience. In parallel with his career as a performer, Alain Lef\u00e8vre leads a career as a composer. His works, imbued with lyricism and expressive depth, appear on several recordings devoted to his music.
