The new creation of the 7 fingers of the hand, imagined by Shana Carroll, will come to life in Montreal with an international cast bringing together 9 circus artists and actress Ines Talbi.

After a world premiere at the Goodman Theater in Chicago, Les 7 Doigts will present Le Grenier à Montréal, the new work by Shana Carroll, at the Théâtre St-Denis, in French, from November 10 to 15, 2026.

Written, directed and choreographed by Shana Carroll, co-founder and co-artistic director of Les 7 Doigts, former trapeze artist and Tony Award-nominated artist for her work on Water for Elephants on Broadway, this deeply personal creation transforms memory into an acrobatic, poetic and theatrical playground. In Montreal, the cast will honor Quebec performer and actress Ines Talbi. The public was recently able to see her in the series Plan B, The Return of Anna Brodeur and La Candidate (Gémeaux Prize for best supporting role 2024), as well as on stage notably in La Renarde, following in the footsteps of Pauline Julien (Félix for show of the year 2019). For this very special production, whose themes touch me intimately, it was essential for me to entrust it to performers with the depth, maturity and creative tools necessary to approach this material and take it to heights that I could only have imagined. Bringing together artists I have worked with for almost 17 years and others I have just discovered, their complicity and the beauty they exude together on stage is simply breathtaking. » Shana Carroll

On the bed in the attic bedroom of her childhood, a woman revisits her life through the memories and dreams that inhabit her. The walls expand, the beams become a playground, between reality and imagination, past and desire. Inspired by her career as a trapeze artist, Shana Carroll’s work unfolds from a simple gesture: looking upwards. From dust in the light to shooting stars, from the trapeze to hospital machines, each image shifts the room into a new space. In the air as on the ground, The 7 Fingers circulate memories from one body to another. The room becomes a moving space, crossed by dance, the circus and memory.

The Attic: the things I saw lying on my back.
