Present in the room to attend this creation of musical theater freely inspired by his work, the singer-songwriter, filmmaker and environmental activist met the artists, musicians and members of the creative team backstage after the show. A surprise for the entire team including NOÉMIE GODIN-VIGNEAU, JEAN-FRANÇOIS CASABONNE, GENEVIÈVE ALARIE, STEVEN LEE POTVIN, SARAH VILLENEUVE-DESJARDINS, as well as MARC-ANDRÉ PERRON on piano and STÉPHANE TÉTREAULT on cello.

A confidence that finds an echo on stage During this privileged exchange, Richard Desjardins confided to them to what extent he had been touched by the artistic proposal. Words received with immense emotion by the entire team of performers, musicians and technicians, who have carried this work with heart and conviction since the beginning of its creation. “Presenting The Lisa Effect in front of Richard Desjardins was already a dizzying moment. Discovering his presence in the room, then hearing him tell us how touched and impressed he was, deeply shocked the entire team. We created this show with immense respect for the strength of his work, his words and his gaze. Receiving his words with such generosity is an honor that we will treasure,” underlines Jade Bruneau, co-general and artistic director of the Théâtre de l’Oeil Ouvert, director, adapter and performer of L’effect Lisa.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:inline-block;width:728px;height:90px;"
data-ad-client="ca-pub-8992136571741975"
data-ad-slot="6185130430"></ins>

Richard Desjardins had placed his trust and given carte blanche to the creators of the show so that they could freely reinvent his universe. His presence at Carré 150 and the emotional reception he gave to the result today give a very particular resonance to this initial confidence. Imagined and directed by Jade Bruneau, The Lisa Effect brings together the words, songs and major themes that run through the work of Richard Desjardins with an original text by Philippe Robert. This poetic and tender fable, where lucid drama and sharp humor meet, addresses in particular our relationship to the territory, nature, memory, identity, love and environmental emergency. The emblematic characters of the Desjardins universe (the Bum, the Good Guy, the Maid, Jenny and Lisa) come to life at the heart of an entirely new story, carried by a remarkable cast and creative team.

The team of performers, musicians and technicians with Richard Desjardins backstage at Carré 150 last Sunday evening.

Four more performances this week in VictoriavilleThe Lisa effect will return to Carré 150 on August 20, 21, 22 and 23, before opening the 2026-2027 season at Théâtre La Bordée, in Quebec, from September 15.
