Through six exhibitions, three performances, eight discussions and a host of mediation activities, we wish to offer opportunities to discover, exchange and take a new look at the world around us.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the programming explores themes as varied as popular culture, the body, well-being, historical stories and digital technologies. DRAC is very pleased to begin a new collaboration with the Rencontre international d\u2019art de performance de Qu\u00e9bec (RiAP), by welcoming two artists from its satellite programming to Drummondville. This association marks an important step for our center and helps to position itself more strongly in the major networks for the dissemination of current art.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat makes me most proud is to see DRAC continue to promote current art here in Drummondville, while creating bridges with the major distribution networks in the province. Beyond the exhibitions, we want DRAC to be a living place, where people come to discover, be surprised, learn and exchange. Each project is designed to bring artists and audiences together, and to make current art an accessible, unifying experience anchored in our community. Inspired by the observation of his daily life, he adopts a poetic and subjective approach, freed from academic constraints. The artist brings together fragments \u2013 texts, images, objects, thoughts, conversations \u2013 which he diverts and transforms in a workshop, leaving room for accidents and improvisation. The works function like distorting mirrors, questioning in particular the place of artists in Quebec society and the influence of popular culture and media discourse on our imagination. This exhibition is supported by a creative grant from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n<p>* November 7 \u2013 December 20, 2026 Morfofonium Beth Frey, in collaboration with PhthMorfofonium is an immersive audiovisual installation by the artist Beth Frey created in collaboration with the vocal collective Phth. Reconfigured for the DRAC space, the work deploys a multi-channel environment where watercolor, drawing, video and mobile technologies intersect. Through body collage and digital manipulation, Frey transforms the vocalists into hybrid creatures. These forms dialogue with an experimental, eclectic and surprising vocal score. Broadcast in a loop on several screens and speakers, the installation activates the space and invites you to wander around. Complementary works reveal the collaborative process, blurring the boundaries between creation and presentation.<\/p>\n<p>* February 6 \u2013 March 21, 2027 The resistance gymnasium Jacinthe Loranger &#038; Fr\u00e9d\u00e9rique Ulman-Gagn\u00e9 The resistance gymnasium transforms the exhibition space into a hybrid environment combining gymnasium, workshop and symbolic body site. Misused equipment becomes metaphorical sculptures, revealing tensions between performance, care and exhaustion. The gym is approached as a paradoxical place, combining control, refuge and resistance. Unstable and inoperative machines question the obsession with body optimization. The fragmented ground and monumental paintings evoke emotional and physical states. The whole creates an immersive journey inviting you to slow down and feel. The exhibition questions the well-being industry and proposes to rethink the body as a space of vulnerability, transformation and collective solidarity.<\/p>\n<p>* April 3 \u2013 May 16, 2027 Contortions Karine Fr\u00e9chetteContortions offers pictorial works on canvas and textile, integrating an expanded installation dimension of painting. The exhibition explores the manipulation and distortion of images, between digital, painting and materiality. The work is based on images transformed by optical and digital processes, extending a reflection on their alteration. The works result from complex visual transformations, where the subject becomes the process of deformation itself. At the same time, Karine Fr\u00e9chette experiments with new textiles, playing with tensions and folds. The whole aims for an immersive installation, engaging the body and space, and marks a return to a more direct and physical practice.<\/p>\n<p>* May 29 \u2013 June 20, 2027 Visual arts graduates from C\u00e9gep Drummond Since 2007, DRAC has annually exhibited the work of visual arts graduates from C\u00e9gep Drummond. Presenting works created in a wide variety of mediums, the collective exhibition brings together unique practices that reflect the concerns of these artists at the beginning of their professional career. This exhibition is an opportunity to showcase the work of emerging visual arts artists from the region and to create a first exhibition experience in an institutional context.<\/p>\n<p>* July 10 \u2013 August 29, 2027 Encag\u00e9e: perpetuating the myth Natascha NiederstrassThe exhibition Encag\u00e9e: perpetuating the myth revisits the fascinating story of Marie-Josephte Corriveau, an emblematic figure of Quebec folklore. Condemned in 1763 by a British court martial, she was executed then hung in an iron cage, thus nourishing myths and legends that span the centuries. In this project, Natascha Niederstrass presents a series of imagined archive photographs, inspired by historical documents, accompanied by fragments taken from the trial. Through these works, the artist highlights the flaws in the judicial system of the time, including a lack of linguistic understanding and the blatant injustice of the verdict. The exhibition encourages reflection on the process of mythologizing a person while questioning the place of women in stories marked by power and violence.<\/p>\n<p>Satellite programming<\/p>\n<p>* September 26, 2026 \u2013 2 p.m. RiAP26 in circulation PerformanceThe International Meeting of Performance Art (RiAP) is a major event that explores performance art as a space of presence, relationship and experimentation. The 2026 edition brings together local and international practices that question the body, memory and social dynamics. In this context, DRAC welcomes the artists Sara Cowdell (New Zealand) and Barbara Le B\u00e9guec-Friedman (France) as a satellite of the event in Quebec. Their interventions will offer sensitive experiences where gestures, attention and commitment take shape live, inviting the public to experience artistic encounters anchored in the present moment and open to lasting resonances.<\/p>\n<p>* November 7, 2026 \u2013 3 p.m. Phth Collective Performance Phth With this performance, the vocalists of the Phth collective will activate the Morfofonium exhibition by sharing their vocal language marked with humor and excessive openness. Their sonic palette embraces the organic beauty and ugliness of sound without discrimination, creating a strong sensory and conceptual affinity with the formless, chromatic qualities of Beth Frey&rsquo;s work.<\/p>\n<p>* March 3, 2027 Spring Break Day MADD x DRAC AtelierLa Maison des arts Desjardins Drummondville and DRAC \u2013 Current Art Drummondville are joining forces to offer a very special day of activities as part of the school break week. Come enjoy a multidisciplinary foray exclusive to MADD combining visual arts, performing arts and theater \u2013 in addition to attending the performance of the show Dans ma t\u00eate. This project is carried out in collaboration with the Maison des arts Desjardins Drummondville.<\/p>\n<p>* March 4, 2027 \u2013 1 p.m. Introduction to beading Workshop Led by artist MC Snow, DRAC offers an introductory beading workshop. During the workshop you will be able to experiment with basic techniques to make a small medallion. The workshop is made possible thanks to the Cultural Development Agreement of the City of Drummondville.<\/p>\n<p>* March 9, 2027 \u2013 6 p.m. Ash basketry workshop Led by the mediators from the Mus\u00e9e des Ab\u00e9nakis, this workshop invites participants to make an ash and sweetgrass bookmark, inspired by traditional ash basketry techniques. Preceded by a presentation on the history of this practice, its manufacturing process and the issues surrounding ash, this activity offers an introduction to ancestral know-how that is still very much alive. The workshop is made possible thanks to the Cultural Development Agreement of the City of Drummondville.<\/p>\n<p>Les DiscussionsDRAC presents a series of 8 discussions, carried out in an intimate format with artists and collaborators from the center. These 60 to 90 minute discussions are aimed at art lovers of all ages. Access to the discussions is free, registration is required for certain events. What roles do artists, authors, graphic designers and editors play in the design of a work? How is an art book constructed, from idea to object? This meeting proposes to explore the multiple forms that artistic publishing can take in the company of the artist Lucie Rocher and Manon Tourigny, general and artistic director of Artexte.<\/p>\n<p>* October 28, 2026 6:30 p.m. Art therapyDiscussion around art therapy, exploring the links between artistic creation, well-being and transformation processes in the company of Stephen Legari, responsible for educational programs in art therapy at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. How can art become a tool for expression, appeasement or self-understanding? What are the contexts and approaches that define this practice? This meeting proposes to open a space for exchange on the uses of art from a therapeutic perspective, at the crossroads of artistic practices and care. What role do corporate collections play in supporting and disseminating current art? How is a collection built and developed within an organization?
