Visitors had the chance to participate in several activities offered in the rich and diverse program. The school days allowed 4,000 students from the region to set foot on the floor of the Sherbrooke Fairgrounds Center.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibitors, guests and the public particularly appreciated the new layout of the site, the festive atmosphere and the warm welcome from the volunteers. For this major literary event, 545 authors and illustrators were present. More than 1,485 signing sessions were offered, and 125 events showcased local literature on the Radio-Canada, Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec and Desjardins\/Espace Lis-moi stages.<\/p>\n<p>Recipients of the Le Printemps des Essayistes writing competition The awards ceremony for the recipients of the Le Printemps des Essayistes competition took place on October 18 on the Radio-Canada stage. This competition offered college and university students from Quebec the opportunity to express themselves on the theme: Literature at the heart of social awakening.<\/p><div id=\"linit-4032056198\" class=\"linit-dans-le-contenu linit-entity-placement\" role=\"region\" aria-label=\"Publicit\u00e9s\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8992136571741975\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><insclass=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:inline-block;width:728px;height:90px;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8992136571741975\" data-ad-slot=\"6185130430\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>Presented as part of the Lis-moi project, supported by the Youth Secretariat, three winners were awarded scholarships:1. 1st position Emy Girard (C\u00e9gep de Sherbrooke), $1,000 scholarship awarded by the University of Sherbrooke2. 2nd: Tolo Bismarck Sanon (Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke), $700 scholarship awarded by the Coop\u00e9rative de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke3. 3rd: Rebecca Savard (Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Rimouski \u2013 L\u00e9vis campus), $400 scholarship awarded by Marquis Imprimeur<\/p>\n<p>We would also like to name our favorites: Clara-Ann Becherrani (C\u00e9gep de Sherbrooke), \u00c9tienne Roberge (Coll\u00e8ge de Maisonneuve) and Florence Briand (Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al). We would like to warmly thank our major partners: the Society for the Development of Cultural Enterprises (SODEC), the City of Sherbrooke, the Youth Secretariat, Canadian Heritage, Radio-Canada (official presenter), the University of Sherbrooke, Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec and Desjardins.<\/p>\n<p>Obviously, a huge thank you to the public who responded to bring our essential Salon to life.
