Winner of the Golden Leopard at the 78th Locarno Film Festival, the film was subsequently presented at numerous other festivals around the world and won numerous awards.<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by Yoshiharu Tsuge&rsquo;s manga A View of the Seaside (1967) and Mr. Ben and His Igloo (1968), the film interweaves two discrete stories about loneliness and fleeting connections. In summer, Nagisa and Natsuo meet at the seaside, navigating awkward conversations and shared solitude. In winter, Li, a screenwriter on the decline, arrives at an isolated inn buried in snow, taking with her an old camera that belonged to a deceased acquaintance. There she meets the enigmatic Benzo.
