During its summer cycle, the Cin\u00e9math\u00e8que qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise continues its promotion of genre cinema with a program that will provide thrills to moviegoers from July 1 to August 31, with more than 100 action films from here and elsewhere, offering a range of classics from all eras. From Sergei Eisentein (The Battleship Potemkin, 1925) to Gilles Carle (Red, 1970), from John Ford (Stagecoach, 1939) to John Boorman (Point Blank, 1967), from Werner Herzog (Aguirre, the Wrath of God, 1972) to Paul Verhoeven (Flesh+Blood, 1985), via Kathryn Bigelow (Point Break, 1991), John Woo (Hard Boiled, 1992), Park Chan-wook (Oldboy, 2003), \u00c9rik Canuel (The Pig&rsquo;s Law, 2001), Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, 2011) and Coralie Fargeat (Revenge, 2017), this program promises to keep the audience in suspense!<\/p>\n<p>The Cin\u00e9math\u00e8que always seeks to renew the graphic approach of its major cycles: for this one, the institution called on Montreal designer and illustrator Marie Bergeron who knew how to infuse a good dose of adrenaline into the visuals of the ACTION program.<\/p>\n<p>CINE-CONCERTS True to form, the Cin\u00e9math\u00e8que will also present several silent films accompanied by piano, as part of this cycle: The General by Buster Keaton and Clyde Bruckman, presented in 35 mm and accompanied by piano by Roman Zavada (July 3); Sergei Eisenstein&rsquo;s Battleship Potemkin, presented in 35mm (July 17) and Safety Last! by Fred C. Newmeyer and Sam Taylor (August 14), both accompanied by Chantale Morin; and finally, a program of 4 works announcing the action film, The Great Train Robbery by Edwin S. From August 21 to September 11, QUENTIN TARANTINO, FURIEUX CIN\u00c9PHAGE, will offer the ideal opportunity to (re)see the filmmaker&rsquo;s essential films on the big screen.
