The screening of the film, in the original French version with English subtitles, will begin at nightfall, around 8:50 p.m. It will be preceded by a presentation by Serge Turgeon, founder and artistic director of Film Noir at the Canal. Admission is free. In the event of rain, the screening will be postponed to Monday July 20.<\/p>\n<p>Special screening at the Cin\u00e9math\u00e8que qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise<\/p>\n<p>At the cinema, fans of detective films can discover Ascenseur pour l\u2019\u00e9chafaud (1958) by Louis Malle, a work once again bringing together Jeanne Moreau and Lino Ventura. Inspired by the novel of the same name by No\u00ebl Calef, the film&rsquo;s plot revolves around a self-confident businessman who murders his employer, the husband of his mistress, which unintentionally triggers a series of tragic events.
