Incorporating 3D relief elements, this fresco inaugurated today has become a signature landmark for the neighborhood, which is undergoing rapid transformation.

This project, supported by MURAL, is the result of exemplary collaboration between public and private actors: the facilitating role of the SDC District Central, the opening of the Dayan Group, owner of the building, the support of the Ahuntsic-Cartierville district and institutional partners made it possible to realize this major achievement.

This synergy offered the artist Dalkhafine a unique framework to express his creativity on an emblematic building in the district: “I wanted a colorful and energy-filled universe to stand out on this immense but very particular canvas in order to give it back its nobility, because it is a public space that is already very unifying, at the entrance to a district animated by the community and creators.”

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:inline-block;width:728px;height:90px;"
data-ad-client="ca-pub-8992136571741975"
data-ad-slot="6185130430"></ins>

For MURAL, this project is part of a broader approach to promoting public art: “We are very proud to unveil the Urban Lifeline project, which adds a new dimension to the Central District’s public art journey. At the heart of a sector that is already overflowing with culture and creativity, this work will undoubtedly become a landmark celebrated by all,” underlines Pierre-Alain Benoît, general director of MURAL.

On the side of the SDC District Central, this initiative contributes to achieving the ambitions of its business community: “This mural is much more than a work: it reflects our desire to make the District Central a vibrant, creative and sustainable environment. The first signature intervention in the Saint-Laurent sector of the District, it highlights biodiversity and reconstruction, two strong symbols for the neighborhood, which the artist was able to integrate well. », Adds Hélène Veilleux, general director of the SDC District Central.

Partners and support This project was carried out thanks to the financial support of the Government of Quebec and the City of Montreal as part of the Montreal Cultural Development Agreement, as well as the collaboration of the Dayan Group, the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough, the SDC District Central, and the technical partners Atwill Morin and Bétonel-Dulux.

ABOUT MURALMURAL is a non-profit organization working mainly in Montreal and whose mission is to democratize urban art.
