Midnight at the Park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the next cycle of Minuit au Parc in July and August, it is the turn of the management and customer service team to choose the programming.<\/p>\n<p>Following a first cycle dedicated to the films that started the trend of Midnight Movies in the 60s and a second highlighting the new classics of directors who have become cult, the third cycle of the 10th edition of Minuit au Parc gives employees a voice in the choice of films presented.<\/p>\n<p>You will quickly notice \u2013 the programming is eclectic and covers a vast horizon of genres and eras. The employees have drawn on the films that have marked their career as film buffs and which they wish to introduce, or rediscover, to the customers they meet. It\u2019s also a rare chance to see these films on the big screen, the majority having been released before employees were old enough to go out to the cinema.<\/p><div id=\"linit-1408589117\" class=\"linit-dans-le-contenu linit-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8992136571741975\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:inline-block;width:728px;height:90px;\" \ndata-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8992136571741975\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"6185130430\"><\/ins> \n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>The cycle begins with great fanfare with SOUTH PARK: BIGGER, LONGER AND UNCUT, selected by Thomas at customer service. The choice is not just for laughs \u2013 South Park has long been the go-to show for Thomas, which he listened to on the way home from school instead of doing his homework. This nostalgia prompted him to infuse some levity into the programming, despite describing the film as a \u201cwar and apocalyptic film.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then, the programming does a 180 degree with THE THIRD MAN, an emblematic film in the history of cinema. Gabriela, at customer service, also wanted to underline its importance and show that a young audience can be interested in period films.<\/p>\n<p>The cycle continues with well-known works such as REQUIEM FOR A DREAM and PARIS, TEXAS, genre classics such as ON THE SILVER GLOBE, LA CHINOISE and THE OTHERS, and films that will perhaps get the audience dancing, PARIS IS BURNING and THE BLUES BROTHERS.<\/p>\n<p>Each session will be accompanied by a brief introduction by the employee concerned, to put their choice and their relationship with the film into context.<\/p>\n<p>It is also interesting to mention that the September and October cycle will give the public the chance to choose the programming! Until June 30, votes are open to select the nine films that will close this season of Midnight at the Park.
