His first film earned him the BAFTA Award for best first film by a British screenwriter, director or producer thanks to the authenticity of the themes addressed and its distinctive and experimental visual style.<\/p>\n<p>In ROSE OF NEVADA, Jenkin returns to his port origins. The film begins like a classic thriller, with a mystery that the inhabitants of the small fishing village try to solve, but gradually transforms into an exercise in memory, creating an icy tension throughout the scenario.<\/p><div id=\"linit-3773666203\" class=\"linit-dans-le-contenu linit-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8992136571741975\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:inline-block;width:728px;height:90px;\" \ndata-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8992136571741975\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"6185130430\"><\/ins> \n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>The real achievement of the film is undoubtedly the sound construction. Filmed on 16mm with a hand-cranked Bolex camera, sound was added in post-production, a deliberate choice by Jenkin that allowed him to devote his attention to the film&rsquo;s visuals during filming, and the audio afterwards. The result is an immersive experience that transports the viewer into a surreal and ghostly universe.<\/p>\n<p>SynopsisIn a fishing village, a boat mysteriously appears in the old port. The Rose of Nevada, lost at sea with all its men 30 years ago, is back. For the few people who remember it, it\u2019s a sign. The Rose of Nevada must return to sea, perhaps then the luck of the devastated village will change. Nick takes a job aboard the ship to try to support his family. At his side, Liam, newly arrived, joins the crew, in order to escape his past. They set sail and, after a successful voyage, return to port. But something is wrong.
