The AfroMonde Festival is back for its 18th consecutive year from August 6 to 9, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. For the 18th consecutive year, the AfroMonde Festival transforms the Quai de l’Horloge of the Old Port of Montreal into a living crossroads of Afro-descendant cultures.
This great celebration opens its doors to all those who wish to discover the event, with an eco-responsible contribution of $3.99 to all entries. Please note that entry is free at all times for children under 12 and 65 and over.
Beyond the concerts, the Allée des Saveurs invites festival-goers on a gastronomic journey through the cuisines of Africa, the Caribbean and diasporas around the world. The artisanal kiosks, the business spaces and the flavor village make up a dense, lively site, like the continent that inspires it. The festival also includes the Black Forest stage, the Black Forest Cabaret, the Exclusive VIP Zone and the AfroMonde Cup soccer, basketball and fitness tournament open to all communities.
18 years ago, Agnès Mbome, from Cameroon, had a simple and revolutionary idea: to offer Afro-descendant cultures a space worthy of their grandeur, in the heart of Montreal. This idea thus became the AfroMonde Festival, which is today recognized as the largest Afro-descendant celebration in Canada. Agnès Mbome imported to Montreal one of the most sacred festivals of her culture: the Ngondo, an ancestral ceremony of the people of the Wouri River and sowed, on the banks of the Saint-Laurent, the roots of a proud and living identity.
“This festival is 18 years of proving that culture is the first bridge between people. AfroMonde is not an event about Africa. It’s a festival that radiates from her. » – Underlines Agnès Mbome, co-founder and general director, AfroMonde Foundation
