The Regards Croisés Association, in partnership with the Observatoire Espace et Société, announces the holding of the 8th edition of the Diaspora Book Fair, which will take place on Saturday May 9, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Espace IGLI (4102 Rue Jean Rivard, Montréal, H1Z 2A6).

A major cultural event, the Diaspora Book Fair aims to promote books and reading, while actively contributing to the construction of living well together. Through literature, it aims to build cultural bridges between communities, thus promoting encounter, mutual understanding and intercultural dialogue.

This 8th edition will also place particular emphasis on the revelation of young talents from the diaspora, by offering them essential visibility in order to make them known and support them in their emergence on the literary scene.

In a global context marked by tensions, conflicts and creativity increasingly influenced by the artificial, the Salon positions itself as a space for returning to the essential: humanism;

peace; reconnection to authentic human expression.

More than ever, the world seems in search of its humanity, and literature remains a powerful vector to carry this aspiration.

The Salon is fully part of the contemporary dynamics of the fight against racism and discrimination, by promoting the diversity of voices, stories and experiences. It constitutes an inclusive space, open to all, where everyone can recognize themselves, express themselves and enrich themselves through contact with others.
