CHERS PARENTS d’Emmanuel Patron, en salle le 4 septembre

TVA Films is pleased to announce that DEAR PARENTS, directed by Emmanuel Patron and adapted from the successful play of the same name that he co-signed with Armelle Patron, will be released on September 4 in Quebec. Presented at the opening of the 29th edition of the Alpe dHuez International Comedy Film Festival, this sparkling family comedy brings together on screen Miou Miou and André Dussollier in the role of parents wishing to take advantage of their newfound freedom in the face of their children who have become adults, played by Arnaud Ducret, Pauline Clément and Thomas Solivérès.

When Alice and Vincent Gauthier urgently summon their three children, the siblings come running, convinced that the worst has happened. In reality, their parents tell them excellent news: they have won the jackpot. The problem? They have no intention of sharing it with their children. This announcement quickly becomes the starting point for a real settling of scores, revealing rivalries, jealousies and well-buried secrets.

Before its adaptation to the cinema, DEAR PARENTS enjoyed immense success on stage, with hundreds of performances and nearly 500,000 spectators. With the film, Emmanuel and Armelle Patron transpose to the screen the biting humor and the situations as funny as they are touching which made the success of their play, by exploring with finesse a universal reality: the sometimes complex relationship between parents who wish to fully enjoy their retired life in the face of their children who have become adults, torn between autonomy and family expectations.

Distributed in Canada by TVA Films, DEAR PARENTS will be released in Quebec on September 4, 2026.
