Brigitte Lecordier née Brigitte Capron was born in Paris in 1956. She is also known for having done the French dubbing of the characters of Son Goku and Son Gohan in the Dragon Ball series. Involved in the artistic world, she publishes on her channel YouTube[1] reports and meetings on topics related to pop culture.
Brigitte Lecordier is, like so many others, a privileged witness to the passing of time. She shares, on her social networks[2], his professional and personal experience.
In 2026, she publishes “Reality is enormous[3] », an autobiographical comic strip, in the company of the Belgian cartoonist Arcady Picardi, who has already illustrated “The worst battles in history” by Nota bene.
The Paris of “the Zone”: the end of an era
In “Reality is Enormous”, we go back in time to the beginning of the sixties. At that time, Brigitte Lecordier was a child of 4, 5, or 6 and a half years old. She doesn’t really remember it, she said. She and her family lived in a tower in the city of Paris, on the old fortifications. It was in this part of the city that we nicknamed “the Zone” where “not rich” people crowded together.
Bibi, as she was nicknamed, saw the ring road grow. It tells through the drawings of Arcady Picardi the end of an era which will provoke reactions from a current point of view. This is why the context in this comic strip is important to understand the normality of the time. The result lives up to the ambitions of this work which introduces you to Bibi’s little world with her family, in her neighborhood, at school and in her neighborhood. Bibi’s naive look sets the tone of this comic book which is charged with emotion, where she tells of a reality a little too enormous to be true.
An ordinary family life and touching characters
Bibi is full of wonder. She doesn’t think bad and she sees the world with her child’s heart. Bibi describes her little family:
The father: he made him laugh, but sometimes you shouldn’t bother him when he complains, because he can become quite violent when he addresses Bibi: « But are you going to shut up?! « .
The mother: she is often protective in front of her husband to put out fires.
Gigi: she’s a real tomboy.
Dany: the big sister is the nicest.
Romy: she is everyone’s favorite: “She has her own room.”
Marcel (known as “Mamar”): he is always last in class, but he is really good at football.
