Dans la tête de Sherlock Holmes – Tome 1. Une prouesse graphique au cœur du Loch Leathan

As its title suggests, In the Mind of Sherlock Holmes[1] is an immersion into the world of the most famous detective of the late 19th century, a character created and imagined by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

This work has already been adapted for cinema, radio, theater, cartoons, video games and comic strips. This adaptation is signed by Cyril Lieron and Benoit Dahan. Between 2019 and 2021, they published The Case of the Scandalous Ticket, a dense work where Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson attempted to unravel a conspiracy at their own risk.

The two authors plunge Sherlock Holmes back into a new plot where they multiply the graphic prowess with a cover of the book, designed as a real 3D window opening onto the tortured but lucid world of Sherlock Holmes.

What is elementary for him turns out to be much more difficult to understand for others. Nothing escapes Sherlock Holmes, not even the small unknown grass placed on a window sill, nor the suspicious look of the villagers when he goes, accompanied by his lifelong accomplice, to the village of Loch Leathan.

In this adventure that takes them to Scotland, every detail counts, as we can see in every corner of this original comic strip.

Let’s say it clearly: the authors play with our nerves and make us languish before revealing to us, at the turn of a page or cleverly hidden in a corner, the detail that had escaped us.

More than a simple comic strip, In the Head of Sherlock Holmes is a graphic composition that reorganizes the art of the miniature into a comic strip, which leads us to want to reread this first volume over and over again, so as not to lose sight of any detail, while waiting to know the end of this thrilling enigma.
