With Mythology, the first of the two series from 2026-2027, Espace Libre begins the final season imagined by Félix-Antoine Boutin as artistic director and co-general director.
Composed of three deeply poetic shows, Mythology revisits the founding stories to explore the issues and questions of our time. Between a plant fable anchored in the Centre-Sud district, a gesture of youthful revolt and contemporary opera, the works brought together outline a space where the living, anger and the sacred intertwine.
With Mythology, Espace Libre continues its commitment to singular writing, sensitive creations and daring forms. Three distinct propositions, united by the same impulse: to bring to light stories capable of transforming us.
JARDINFrom September 8 to 26, 2026 (15 performances)Espace Libre begins its journey with Jardin, a modern fable of tender and insolent humor orchestrated by Evelyne de la Chenelière and Daniel Brière. In the Gravel-Ronfard room, a real garden of native plants takes shape and invites the public to take a stroll. Into this profusion of plants emerge Adam and Eve, who move into an apartment in the Centre-Sud district, from where they observe their neighbor, a taciturn gardener. Little by little, their daily lives are cracked under the effect of a plant force as mysterious as it is insistent. Carried by the Nouveau Théâtre Expérimental, the show offers a sensory and ambulatory experience where perfumes, textures and living presences redefine the relationship between stage and audience. Text: Evelyne de la Chenelière Directed by: Daniel Brière Interpretation: Christine Beaulieu, Lyndz Dentiste and Peter Trosztmer A production by the Nouveau Théâtre Experimental
