For five days, Just for Laughs Quebec has been making the heart of the Capital beat to the rhythm of humor. The first galas set the tone, the rooms vibrate, the artists follow one another and thousands of festival-goers gather every evening to celebrate laughter in all its forms. As the festival enters its second week, it is far from having said its last word: several of the most anticipated events of this edition still remain to be discovered, from Thursday to Sunday, until August 9!
From free outdoor shows to the Just for Laughs Roast series, including carte blanche, St-Jean Comédie Club evenings, and several original productions, this edition will bring together essential artists, emerging creators and new concepts in the same celebration.
7 to 8 FESTIVE and THE STAND-UP SERIES at Place George-V Over the coming days, Place George-V will establish itself as the true beating heart of the festival with free outdoor programming on the Loto-Québec stage. The outdoor shows presented at Place George-V are free and accessible to all. However, festival-goers who wish to enjoy the comfort of a chair can reserve a seat free of charge in advance, subject to availability. Simply select the show of your choice in the official ticket office and complete the reservation to obtain the electronic ticket. In a festive atmosphere of a large open-air cabaret, the public will be able to enjoy the vibrant entertainment of Pascale Marineau, music and a series of shows that will showcase Quebec humor. 6 p.m.: Opening of the site 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.: DJ and musical entertainment 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.: Stand-up series – Three different comedians each evening will take the stage
LES CARTES BLANCHES at Place George-V From 9 p.m., Place George-V will also receive the crazy carte blanche performances of Annie Brocoli (July 31), Arnaud Soly (August 1) and Dominic and Martin (August 8), the show Un esti de line-up by Adib Alkhalidey (August 6), the Pur Stand-Up Evening (August 7) as well as the graduates’ tour of the National School of humor (July 30) will be real must-haves for summer evenings to come.
NEW: THE ROAST JUSTE POUR LAUGH SERIES at the Palais MontcalmThe other big signature of this edition will come to life at the Palais Montcalm with the new Roast Juste pour Rire series. Revisiting the famous American concept with a resolutely Quebecois signature, these shows will bring together comedians and artists around the same mission: to celebrate a personality by grilling it with intelligence, irreverence and affection.
