The documentary follows Herby Drescher as he frees himself from a heavy past by attempting the impossible: becoming a racing driver in the legendary NASCAR Canada series. The film is now available online across Canada via distributor Vital’s platform.
In addition, film buffs are also invited to discover a podcast with Herby Drescher and Antoine Bergevin Richer, hosted by Elisabeth Dumouchel, which looks back on their meeting, the genesis of the project and the history of Herby. Together, the trio discusses the pilot’s inspiring journey, the work undertaken to get to where he is today, also discussing the art of making a documentary that captures such vivid emotions but with a luminous approach. SynopsisFrom a very young age, Herby discovered the world of car racing. Although he worked hard to afford the first car that allowed him to learn racing and despite his undeniable talent, the environment he came from did not open the doors necessary for him to climb the ladder. Carried by his childhood dream, by the scent of fuel and asphalt, all his life he gravitated around the world of racing. Among other things, he is a mechanic for more fortunate drivers and this is how he tries, as best he can, to continue to make his place on the circuit, until perhaps achieving his ultimate goal, driving on the NASCAR circuit.
