After organizing the “one-man show” of Wary Nichen on April 30 in Montreal, Karima Bougherara, the founder of “Gosbat Music”, presented a show in tribute to the queen of Rai Cheikha Remitti.
Twenty years after her death, Cheikha Remitti’s musical legacy remains completely timeless. A true pioneer and figurehead of Raï, she marked the history of music with her audacity, her raw authenticity and her uncompromising commitments.
On this occasion, Gosbat Music brought together, on May 9 at the Le Ministère concert hall, two promising voices from the Montreal scene, those of Youba Adjrad, Amine TGV as well as DJ Wassila who knew how to instill a real raï atmosphere.
This 100% Algerian musical event in the heart of the metropolis has enriched the local cultural agenda by offering a leading meeting between artists and the public.
