On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Festival, numerous shows and activities will enliven the highly anticipated Village des Nuits d’Afrique, from July 14 to 19, at the Parterre du Quartier des spectacles and on the Esplanade Tranquille. Since the first editions on Saint-Laurent Boulevard, the journey through the cultures of Africa, the West Indies and Latin America, as well as the rich human connection that results from it, have been at the heart of the intention of the Festival International Nuits d’Afrique.

Dozens of free shows, including the TD Grand Events presented at the end each evening and the concerts that will light up the Loto-Québec stage. There are also fascinating dance and music workshops; artistic encounters at the Cabaret; culinary discoveries on the Walk of Flavors; good deals at the unmissable Timbuktu Market; fun activities at the Radio-Canada Children’s Village; without forgetting the energetic interludes of the Escales Tropiques DJs… The Village des Nuits d’Afrique offers a complete experience, to the delight of families who are impatiently awaiting this event.

New for this 40th edition, the Festival will take over rue Sainte-Catherine. Giant screen, retrospectives, sharing of memories, activities and strolls with Kalabanté, spectacular projections: so many experiences that will make passers-by who do not yet know about the event want to make, without delay, a detour to the Village des Nuits d’Afrique!

CELEBRATING CULTURES TO BUILD A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

At the Festival International Nuits d’Afrique, we believe that the celebration of cultures must go hand in hand with respect for the environment. This is why we integrate eco-responsible practices into all of our activities.

In 2025, we adopted an eco-responsibility policy developed in collaboration with the Quebec Council for Eco-Responsible Events (CQEER). This policy guides our actions until 2028 and allows us to structure our efforts to reduce our environmental footprint while maximizing our positive impact on the community.

For this 40th edition, we are continuing our commitments with the conviction that it is possible to combine celebration, inclusion and sustainable development. Our approach has also been recognized on several occasions, notably by the Vivats Prizes (2022 and 2024), obtaining level 2 of the BNQ standard in responsible event management in 2023, as well as by the Distinction Prize from Tourisme Montréal.
