The Society of Cultural Enterprises (SODEC), in collaboration with Aime ton cinéma, is pleased to announce the launch of the Aime ton cinéma Sundays project starting November 8, 2026.

Every second Sunday of the month, the 26 participating independent cinemas in Quebec make Quebec cinema more accessible by offering tickets for $3, taxes included.

Aime ton cinema Sundays is a national initiative that aims to attract new audiences to Quebec cinema and to encourage the discovery of works that spectators would not otherwise have considered seeing. The objective is also to support cinemas and film distributors since, for each ticket sold, SODEC reimburses cinemas at the usual rate.

“Making Quebec cinema accessible to the greatest number of spectators is one of SODEC’s priorities. By launching Les Dimanches Aime ton cinéma, we want to create new opportunities for local works and different audiences to meet. Thanks to programming that will reach all tastes and all ages, especially young people, we hope to discover, or rediscover, all the richness and diversity of Quebec cinema. »Louise Lantagne, President and CEO, SODEC

“Québec cinema offers a remarkable diversity of works for all tastes and all audiences. Love Your Cinema Sundays are another opportunity to discover it, share it and make it a habit. Thanks to the support of SODEC, we encourage spectators to visit our theaters more often and to experience the richness of our cinema together. »Alexandre Hurtubise, vice-president and treasurer, Aime ton cinéma

The pilot project will extend over a period of 12 months, from November 8, 2026 to October 10, 2027. Every second Sunday of the month, a limited number of seats at $3, taxes included, will be offered in order to promote accessibility to Quebec cinema. The selection of films will be determined by the participating cinemas, based on their programming and release schedule. Tickets will be purchased exclusively on the website: lesdimanches.aimetoncinema.ca. No account will be required and a maximum of two tickets can be purchased per person. Tickets will go on sale a few days before each edition, while available quantities last.

Sundays Aime ton cinéma is inspired by the Belgian initiative “J’peux pas, j’ai cinema”, a campaign to promote Belgian and arthouse cinema initiated by the Cinema and Audiovisual Center of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, which aims to allow the public to enjoy the 7th art on the big screen for a symbolic price.

This initiative is part of SODEC’s efforts to increase the visibility and accessibility of Quebec cinema. By reducing certain barriers to attendance, it promotes the discovery of local works and the development of new audiences.
