They have been singing together for years serving the greatest voices on the Quebec scene. Today, the Ensemble d’En direct de l’univers steps forward into the spotlight with Comme un jeux — a first original song that entirely belongs to them.
Signed by two giants of French-speaking song, Richard Séguin on the composition and David Goudreault on the lyrics, the song has the lightness of an improvised departure and the warmth of the roads traveled between friends. We think of an open window, the wind in your hair, a big road trip where no one consults the map — because the destination is not the goal.
We’re going to live old But live lit With our breath taken away You know we breathe better
Here we find the voices of Jason McNally, Émilie Janvier, Roxane Filion, Elsa Leblanc, Virginie Cummins and Valérie Boulianne in a luminous and enveloping folk pop. The production is by Jean-Benoît Lasanté, and the arrangements are the work of Jason McNally. The first extract from an upcoming album, this is a great way to underline that behind the voices, there are also musicians – the same ones who form the Ensemble on a daily basis – fully involved in the creation of this piece. Comme un Jeu can be heard on August 23 at the Théâtre St-Denis, where Les Koristes will present their show Harmonies d’un soir. A real summer party awaits the public: medleys, favorite songs from the show and from each member of the group, great hits from yesterday to today… There will be something for everyone in this electrifying musical journey!
