The first notes of I had dreamed resonated Thursday evening at the Théâtre St-Denis, giving the official kickoff to one of the most important cultural events of the summer. Presented in front of a packed house, the media premiere of the musical Les Misérables aroused the enthusiasm of the public and the guests, who gave a long standing ovation to this major production bringing together more than 50 artists and musicians on stage.
Carried by an exceptional cast led by Alex Gaumond, Dominique Côté, Klara Martel-Laroche, Debbie Lynch-White, Roger La Rue, Stanley Kassa, Nathan Bois-McDonald, Amélie Baland-Capdet and Kenza Nejmi, this new Quebec production of the masterpiece by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg moved the spectators from start to finish.
Already acclaimed in Paris, where it won the Molière for best musical show in 2025, this contemporary rereading of Les Misérables today finds an equally powerful resonance with the Quebec public. Performances continue at the Théâtre St-Denis until July 25 before hitting the stage at the Grand Théâtre de Québec on August 7.
