Plein(s) Écran(s) and 24 images are proud of a first collaboration around issue 220 of the magazine entitled Amour court – Issues and flashes of contemporary short film which offers an overview of current issues and trends in the world of short films through critical texts, portraits of filmmakers and two round tables.
For the occasion, the Ciné-Club Plein(s) Écran(s) presents in October a selection of five short films accompanied by the texts dedicated to them in the magazine, to create a link between the films and the reflections proposed in the issue. On the program: Maalbeek by Ismaël Joffroy Chandoutis, Tranche de nuit by Romain F. Dubois and Maxime Genois, Maria Schneider, 1983 by Elisabeth Subrin, Municipal Relaxation Module by Matthew Rankin and Mothers and Monsters by Edith Jorisch.
AMOUR COURT – CHALLENGES AND FLASHES OF CONTEMPORARY SHORT FILMIn the introduction to the file, editor-in-chief Bruno Dequen explains that the latter aims to reflect on the most stimulating issues and trends of the last 10 years in the field of short films, and to highlight a format that is still under-represented despite flourishing production. The issue notably includes a round table around the programming, with the participation of Mélissa Bouchard (Festival REGARD), Émilie Poirier (Festival du nouveau cinéma), Ariane Roy-Poirier (Plein(s) Écran(s)) and Jason Todd (Québec Cinéma). A second round table focuses on distribution, and gives the floor to Serge Abiaad (La Distributrice de films), Tam Dan Vu (Traveling Distribution), Mathilde Fauteux (Videographe) and Clotilde Vatrinet (Les Films du 3 Mars). This new issue also includes portraits of filmmakers Amélie Hardy, Maryam Tafakory, Gala Hernández López, Total Refusal, Caroline Poggi and Jonathan Vinel, as well as an index of 20 short films (2015-2025) to discover.
