Soley Twopikal Ak De Je Li, projeté lors de la 22e édition du Festival du film black de Montréal

Director Elisée Junior St Preux was present in Montreal for the screening of his film at the 22nd Montreal International Black Film Festival.

Produced in 2026, Soley Twopikal Ak De Je Li (The Tropic Sun and His Eyes) takes us to Cap-Haïtien, Haiti.

Ruben, a young man of 26, wants to reconnect with his estranged father before it is too late. On his way, he is joined by a street child who is determined to accompany him.

This trip, which Ruben wanted to avoid, turns out to be essential for him. He must make peace with himself and his past through meetings with locals and sharing stories mixing joy, pain and resilience. Ruben’s journey can thus be interpreted as an exploration of healing, human connection and the breaking of generational cycles between the two characters.

The feature film offers a window of authenticity on Haiti, beyond the prejudices and political and economic tensions that have shaken the country for several years already.
