Luísa Maita teams up with Brazilian audio-visual collective Embolex for a remix single of « Around You » from her critically acclaimed album Fio da Memória.
Fio da Memória has received many accolades since it’s release. The New York Times raved about it’s, « ingenious crosscurrents of rhythm », and Pitchfork proclaims it, « a striking album full of spare but heavily percussive downtempo tracks that foreground the smokiness, subtlety, and empowerment in her voice. »
Brazilian audio-visual collective Embolex has been a pioneer in the Brazilian DJ and VJ scene since electronic music culture first exploded in Brasil about 15 years ago. Embolex has continuously explored the boundaries of live-cinema in performances that merge live music, documentary footage, and video mapping. Embolex is also famous for their video-mashups and remixes and appear regularly at the best Brazilian electronic music parties.
