A GLIMPSE INTO DESTA’S REALITY
Over the past 10 years, we have touched the lives of hundreds of at-risk youth aged 18 to 35. Through our services, we work alongside our participants to help them meet their material and emotional needs.
DID YOU KNOW THAT THIS YEAR AT DESTA…
28 participants are registered in the Lion Wolf School being tutored by 21 volunteers.
25$ = student registration (one-time fee/year) 50$ = 1 course 500$ = 1/2 year of high-school (10 courses) or vocational studies 1000$ = 1 year of high-school (20 courses) or vocational studies
30 participants have joined our Employability and Entrepreneurship Program which received a two-year federally funded investment.
10 are participating in the John Molson School of Business entrepreneurship classes 3 evening a week at DESTA.
20 are receiving personalized employability support and training.
FUTURE PLANS…
We are starting a social enterprise managed by participants that will design, produce and sell DESTA merchandise. This will offer participants valuable working experience and will initiate a more self-sustaining fundraising model for DESTA…Stay tuned for more details!
