Axia films is pleased to announce the theatrical release of CLASS MOYENNE, directed by Antony Cordier (Cold Showers, Gaspard Goes to Wedding), presented as a world premiere at the Filmmakers’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival in 2025. Carried by an choral cast bringing together Laurent Lafitte, Élodie Bouchez, Ramzy Bedia, Laure Calamy, Sami Outalbali and Noée Abita, the film will be released at Quebec on August 14.

Mehdi plans to spend a quiet summer in the sumptuous home of his in-laws. But upon his arrival, a conflict breaks out between his fiancée’s family and the villa’s guardian couple. As Mehdi comes from a modest background, he thinks he can lead the negotiations between the two parties and bring everyone to their senses. However, everything is getting worse…

Co-written by Antony Cordier and Julie Peyr, based on an original screenplay by Jean-Alain Laban and Steven Mitz, CLASSE MOYENNE takes the form of a satirical portrait of class relations which recalls the filmmaker’s first feature film, Cold Showers, presented at Cannes in 2005. A satirical comedy that is both cruel and delicious, CLASSE MOYENNE is carried by a cast who shines brilliantly and accurately in the roles of two families who are completely opposed. CLASS MIDDLE is distributed in Canada by Axia films and will be released on August 14, 2026.
