It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Mohamed El Fayçal Rakem on July 19, 2026.
Born on May 19, 1975 in Algeria, Faisal was always smiling and took life philosophically. He often repeated that: it is not the destination that counts, but the path we take that counts. He was surrounded by his family on the day of his death in Quebec / Canada.
On behalf of those who knew him, I extend my sympathies to his mother, his brother, his sisters, his son Zakaria (his ex-wife) and his entire family. إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ.
Funeral wake
We have been informed that the funeral wake of the deceased Mohamed El Fayçal Rakem is scheduled for Wednesday July 22, 2026 at the Dar Al Imane Muslim Funeral Center located at 6520 rue St Denis, Montreal, QC H2S 2R9. The lounge will be open from 10 a.m. for anyone wishing to come and pray. Salat El Djanaza will take place at 12:00 p.m.
His body will then be repatriated to Algeria where he will be buried in his native land.

Words are very weak to express the pain we feel in the face of this disappearance. He leaves behind an immense void in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing him, loving him and sharing a part of the journey with him.
His body will be repatriated soon so that he can rest among his family. Information relating to repatriation and funerals will be communicated as soon as it becomes known.
During this painful ordeal, we send our most sincere condolences to his entire family, his loved ones and all those who loved him. May Allah grant him His infinite mercy, open the doors of Paradise for him and give his family great courage.

This terrible news that Abderahmane announced to me last night touched me to the deepest. Faced with this painful turn of fate, I am surprised and overwhelmed by sadness. I have no words to tell you how sad I am Mohamed El Fayçal Rakem You left before us, too soon, and you remind us that down here, our life is tiny.
I am happy to have shared part of my professional and friendly life with you. You who had the art of cultivating friendship and good humor, you made all these moments joyful and unique.
Thank you for being a colleague, and such a generous and far-sighted friend who does not hesitate to give his time. Thank you, thanks to you and also to Abdou, I learned a lot about computers and networks… I wanted people to keep the image of you of this smiling and happy young man who enjoys life, devouring it… before it took you so young, my friend.
