The Montreal Youth Literature Festival (FLJM) is back for a seventh edition with completely free programming on August 9, at Noël-Spinelli Park, in Lachine. The FLJM offers families a place for literary discoveries, a space for meetings with authors, illustrators, publishers, literature enthusiasts and fun activities.
Among the highlights of this upcoming edition, Simon Boulerice, spokesperson for the Festival since its very first edition, renews his commitment with the same generosity, the same enthusiasm and the same loyalty. A prolific author and creator appreciated by young audiences, he perfectly embodies the values of the Festival by transmitting his love of books, imagination and creation to readers of all ages.
Among the authors, Barbada will also be there by offering young and old alike an interactive and colorful reading moment. Barbada transforms each story into a captivating adventure, celebrating the pleasure of reading, creativity and imagination in a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
Yves P. Pelletier will also offer an animation based on his book Hubert. With humor and imagination, he immerses the audience in the world of his character and shares behind the scenes of his creation.
Dorothy Mombrun will welcome the public to the Creative Zone throughout the day. It will offer a dynamic and inspiring space where young people can give free rein to their imagination, explore different forms of creation and enjoy a friendly artistic experience.
Among the activities, Benoît Archambault (Mes Aïeux, Prairie Comeau) recounts with humor the journey that led him to a musical and literary career. The public is then invited, with their collaboration, to invent a piece of song. Also meet Charlie-Rose, aged only 12, who will share her passion for writing through a creative workshop, where the public will be asked to write the continuation of a previously chosen story.
Other unmissable events will also mark this edition, notably meetings with Mélissa Perron, Enzo and his new comic strip adapted to music, Dear Black Girls by Shanice Nicole and Freg.
The public will be able to meet the authors, as around twenty publishing houses will have their kiosks and organize signing sessions.
