Les Films Opale, Entract Films and Christal Films Productions highlight the release of the feature film REDEMPTIONS, written and directed by Luc Picard. Today the film is showing on more than 40 screens across Quebec! Remember that the film will be presented in international premiere and in official competition during the 19th edition of the Angoulême Francophone Film Festival (FFA), which will be held from August 24 to 29.
REDEMPTIONS features an impressive Quebec and French cast with Luc Picard, Kelly Depeault, Henri Picard, Maxim Gaudette, Sophie Desmarais, Damien Bonnard, Louise Coldefy, Jean-Simon Leduc, Léopold Lafontaine, Charles-Aubey Houde and Gérard Lanvin. Produced by Christian Larouche, the feature film will also be distributed in France in December 2026, by the new distribution company Motel Film. International sales are entrusted to Ciné-France.
Marcel, a retired hitman, is forced to take up the collar and commit two murders in Montreal. In doing so, he unknowingly initiates a series of fortuitous events that will end up endangering the life of his own daughter in Paris.
François Dutil is the photo director of the film, Mathieu Lemay the artistic director, while Virginie Leclerc is on costumes, Kathryn Casault is on makeup and Pierre Bertrand is on sound. Denis Parent occupies the position of wigmaker and Anita Sanchez-Huerta that of head hairstylist. Patrick Raymond acts as production director, Nathalie Tremblay as executive producer in addition to Tim Ringuette as executive producer. Alex Nevsky wrote the original music for the film, marking his very first composition for the big screen. Produced by Christal Films Productions, REDEMPTIONS is produced with the financial assistance of Telefilm Canada, SODEC, Radio-Canada, Bell Media, the Quebecor Fund and provincial and federal tax credits. Distributed by Les Films Opale and Entract Films, REDEMPTIONS will be released across Quebec on July 29.
