Axia Films is pleased to announce that LOVE ME TENDER, the second feature film by director Anna Cazenave Cambet, will be released on October 23. Presented as a world premiere in the Un Certain Regard section of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, then as a Quebec premiere at the CINEMANIA Festival the same year, the film is the adaptation of the eponymous and autobiographical novel by Constance Debré. Recipient of the Youth Prize at the Cabourg Film Festival in 2025, LOVE ME TENDER brings together on screen Quebecer Monia Chokri as well as Vicky Krieps (Corsage, Das Boot) and Antoine Reinartz (Anatomy of a Fall).

One late summer, Clémence announces to her ex-husband that she has love affairs with women. Her life turns upside down when he takes away custody of her son. Clémence will have to fight to remain a mother, a woman, and free.

Through this intimate and committed story, the film questions the place of women within traditional, often rigid family structures. LOVE ME TENDER invites reflection on ordinary homophobia and misogyny, while highlighting the cumbersomeness of French legal procedures surrounding child custody.

Distributed in Canada by Axia Films, LOVE ME TENDER hits theaters on October 23, 2026.
