This summer, the Society of Technological Arts [SAT] is hosting electronic music fans on its roof with SUNSAT. On Saturdays July 18, August 8 and September 12, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., meet there to discover your next favorite DJ, drink a cocktail, eat with friends and enjoy one of the most beautiful terraces in the Quartier des spectacles.
Imagined in collaboration with Living Room IDs, the music curation platform founded by Montreal DJ and producer Laurence Matte, this new series brings together key figures from the Montreal electronic scene around a carefully selected program. From midday, the rooftop comes alive and the DJ sets gradually increase in intensity until the golden hour, navigating between house, deep house, dub, jungle and electronic sounds. A soundtrack designed as much for chilling on the terrace as for getting carried away on the dance floor.
The musical programming is entirely entrusted to Living Room IDs, whose approach, inspired by selector culture, highlights artists recognized for the finesse of their selections and their ability to tell a story behind the decks. Here, no predictable playlists or expected big hits: musical curiosity is at the heart of each edition.
Beyond music, SUNSAT celebrates an entire Montreal creative ecosystem. Visitors will be able to discover the artisan market, savor summer cuisine created by chef Catherine Lépine Lafrance, and taste the signature cocktails of La Buvette created by mixologist Patricia Jeanson.
July 18 – Laurence Matte b2b Liv KTo open the series, the founder of Living Room IDs, Laurence Matte, shares the decks with Liv K for a meeting where the selections evolve freely between dub, jungle, psychedelic grooves and more contemplative rhythms. The two DJs favor long progressions and unexpected transitions, creating a space where attentive listening naturally transforms into dancing.
August 8 – kiju b2b Laurence MatteA figure in the Montreal DIY scene, kiju joins Laurence Matte for a musical dialogue driven by groove. Known as much for her work as an organizer as for her meticulous selections, she navigates with ease between different textures, tempos and influences, offering sets that take their time and cultivate an energy that is as subtle as it is catchy.
September 12 – Vayia b2b Laurence MatteThe series concludes with Vayia, representative of a new generation of DJs who are reinventing house through a fluid and instinctive approach. In duo with Laurence Matte, she composes a journey where groove, tension and subtle evolution respond to each other until nightfall.
